Qld: Coalition criticised over full Telstra sale
The Queensland Premier's criticised the state Coalition for not standing up to the
federal government .. over its decision to sell the remaining Telstra shares.
PETER BEATTIE says Queensland's rural and regional residents will lose out in the eight
million dollar sale announced by the prime minister yesterday.
Mr BEATTIE says customers in rural areas won't be a priority for a private telephone
company .. because they're not as profitable as customers in the city.
He says if the Nationals and Liberals can't stand up to Canberra .. how can they stand
up for the people of Queensland.
But Coalition leader LAWRENCE SPRINGBORG says the full sale of Telstra is old news
.. with the legislation going through ages ago.
