Maine Internetworks Chosen as FrontierVision's Exclusive Data Partner for Offering Cable Modem Service to Thousands of Maine Residents.

WINSLOW, Maine, Oct. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- FrontierVision and the Maine Internetworks, Inc. (MINT) today announced that Cable Modem access to the Internet is now available to residents of the Camden and Rockland areas.

MINT, currently the only network service provider in Maine to use fiber optics between points of presence, is rolling out this service as a result of their partnership with FrontierVision Partners, L.P., Maine's largest Cable TV provider. FrontierVision Partners chose MINT as their exclusive data partner for this project.

Monthly rates for the Quicksilver (http://www.fvpmint.net) residential Internet service start at $39.95. Cable modems are owned and provided by FrontierVision. Cable access will provide users with data throughput speeds up to 45 times greater than that of a regular telephone modem. Quicksilver customers will enjoy the benefits associated with a Premium Internet Service plus the additional benefits of broadband network architecture.

Starting at $150.00, commercial clients can now employ streaming audio and video, video conferencing, telecommuting, corporate Intranet access, and a host of small office/home office applications that are tailor made for this broadband connectivity solution.
